OMWD is pursuing conservation and outreach strategies aimed at reducing potable water use by 32% and reach its top potable water users. The district also implemented Level 2 Water Supply Shortage rates and revised mandatory use restrictions including to establish a 2-day water week.

Orange County Water District

As a groundwater management agency, Orange County Water District spent $79.3 million over the past three years purchasing imported water to recharge the district’s groundwater basin – helping to partially refill the basin and offset the impacts of the drought. OCWD hosts educational events and provides conservation information on its website. The district also regularly partners with the Municipal Water District of Orange County to promote conservation programs and incentives.
