Padre Dam MWD has implemented an aggressive public relations and outreach program to education customers on the drought and mandatory water use restrictions, including assigned watering 2 days per week.
PCWA is engaging customers and building regional partnerships as part of its stewardship responsibilities during the drought. It is organizing educational outreach events, managing media campaigns, and harnessing new technologies, including the expedited installation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure, to help customers reach their conservation goals.
Palmdale Water District employs two full-time staff dedicated to water conservation efforts. The district offers a full range of rebate options for rate payers including high efficiency toilet and washing machines rebates and a Cash for Grass program. The district uses radio spots and magazine ads to promote its "Less is More...Save for OUR Future" campaign and also presents drought information to local business associations, school classrooms, and local clubs.
